Exercise Reduces Stress!

stress somewhere to go. The stress that we suffer from is not just stress, it's
bottled up stress. There is no release.
Stress is a form of the fight or flight syndrome. We feel that we must either fight of
flee the situation. The damage comes from the inability to either flee or fight. We just
sit there. There is no release for the stress.
When we exercise, it is like letting the steam out of the kettle. Sure the body reacts,
but in a good and healthy way!
What's the best kind of exercise to do?
That's up to you. Years ago I worked a very stressful job and I used weight lifting to
relieve it. It was good for me at the time, but now I prefer walking or riding my bike.
I enjoy being out in the fresh air and I enjoy being under my own power.
You have to find what sort of exercise works best for you. I suggest you change it
up. Walk or run sometimes, play tennis, ride a bike, lift weights. The more variety
you have in your exercise program, the better it will be for your body.
Are there other benefits?
Many people want to change their lives because they want more money. Let me ask
you a question. If you had a billion dollars, but was not physically fit enough to leave
the house, what good would it be?
I often use my walk time as a sort of walking meditation. I have come up with as
many inspirations while walking or riding my bike as sitting in front of the computer.
Does exercise reduce stress? The answer is yes. It reduces stress by releasing
tension and by giving time to think and gain inspiration!
If you are struggling with stress and you know that your health is not what it should
be, start exercising! Don't let another day go by. Start today if you can, tomorrow at
the latest!
