Burdock Root is a Great Blood Purifier
by DeWayne Weaver

Most herbalist who practice natural medicine are familiar with burdock root being a
powerful blood purifier. I went out one day and dug up five big burdock roots and I
made a decoction from them. The result was a green looking tea, that looked like an
absinthe drink. The green colored liquid looked a lot like a green cough medicine I had
as a child.

Burdock is very effective when it comes to treating chronic skin problems. It can be
very helpful for such ailments as eczema, carbuncles, psoriasis, acne, boils and even
some STDs. You can either make a strong tea out of burdock root or you can stop
by your local health food store and pick up a bottle of Nature's Way (one of the few
companies that makes great herbal products).

Another all-natural remedy not too many are familiar with is, burdock's amazing
ability to get rid of kidney stones and gallstones. This can be done by making what's
called burdock and catnip tea. Its best to make this tea as a decoction, where you
have it sit for a few hours. After you drink 2 cups of the tea, you then orally take 1
tablespoon of pure all-natural virgin olive oil.

It's best to abstain from fried foods and white sugar, while you are using this natural
herbal remedy. To give the body a strong foundation for healing, it is wise to eat raw
uncooked vegetables and drink four glasses of water a day. Eating raw uncooked
foods will help strengthen your weakened organs and give you unbelievable amounts
of energy.

I wanted to talk about this great herb, because I feel that it's an herb that is easily
overlooked, but it's one of the greatest. Echinacea and goldenseal are both very
expensive herbs to purchase at the health food store, but the lowly herb may cost
less than $10 a bottle and I've seen it actually go for seven dollars a bottle.

I would suggest for anyone who owns a couple of acres of land to plant some roots
in a big patch. You can use these roots for your salads and even for your soups. All
you have to do is thinly slice the roots and they will make your salad or soup taste
exquisite!

Did you know that burdock root is a
great blood purifier? I'm sure you've
heard of echinacea and goldenseal
root, but the poor burdock root does
not get the credit that it really
deserves. Not to mention, this herb
cost a lot less than the other well
known ones.

Growing up as a kid out in the
country, I could not help but run into
burdock plants. The brown bristly
burrs would stick to my sock's and
the bottom of my pants. I imagine
these would make great weapons if
you were Spiderman!
