How to Cure a Stress Headache

Is there a way to cure stress headaches? If we learned something, there isn't really
technically a cure. We couldn't even cure the common cold, asthma, or infertility.
There is, however, what we call relief. We can take appropriate actions to relieve us
of whatever we feel. Such is true with stress. We can't cure stress because it is a
healthy response to threats and we are bombarded with stressors every day. There
are a few ways to deal with stress headaches. You can either deal with the
headache, or deal with the stress. Here are a few tips:

Medication: Popping a few pills can bring relief to migraines and headaches regardless
of what caused them. Aspirin is well known for taking away headaches. Some brands
of paracetamol have a drowsy effect which can help you fall asleep. The drawback of
medications is that the more you use them, the more the headaches become
tolerant to them. Before you know it, you're consuming more pills but the headaches
won't go away. This puts you at risk of depending too much on the drug.

Meditation: As opposed to medication, which focuses on the headache, meditation
aims to relieve stress. Since stress causes the headache, it makes sense to relieve
stress to "cure" stress headaches. Meditation is an age old spiritual practice
composed of exercises and postures. It has been adapted in the western world as a
form of relaxation practice and is now the leading relaxation technique in the war
against stress.

While medication works just fine, it is also a good idea to try out "natural" methods
to "cure" stress headaches. Cut the problem from the root. Take out stress, and the
headaches go away with it. Other relaxation methods include massage, getting a
hobby, listening to music, and deep breathing. You might want to check your lifestyle
as well as it may be the cause of your stress and your headaches.
