Increase Your Flexibility and Strength With Yoga

the cosmos and you would just like to discover the more handy benefits of yoga,
then you've come to the right place. This article discusses the way that yoga will
increase your flexibility and strength, stimulate your insides, and leave you feeling
refreshed.

Yoga works wonders on the body as far as increasing flexibility and strength go. In
doing yoga, your body is constantly stretching and supporting its own weight. So,
after just a few weeks, you should be able to notice a difference in your level of
flexibility and begin to see more muscle definition. Yoga is also great for developing
core strength. Many of the positions and stances in yoga require you to perform
balancing acts, which necessitate a great deal of concentration and a solid core. Your
core may not be in tip-top shape once you start practicing yoga, but before long,
after enough plank and chair poses, you should notice a difference. Developing a solid
core will also help you gain better balance and improve your posture.

After practicing yoga for awhile, not only will you see improvements to the outside of
your body, but your insides will be getting a makeover as well. In doing yoga, internal
glands and organs that are rarely stimulated are essentially given a massage, which
will help with better overall internal functioning as well as to prevent disease. In Dr.
Timothy McCall's book "Yoga as Medicine," he lists 50 health conditions that are
benefited by practicing yoga. The list includes anxiety, asthma, Fibromyalgia,
psoriasis, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, and schizophrenia.

Yoga acts as a great feel-good, stress relieving workout. After completing a yoga
session, you will leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Yoga will have massaged
your body and gotten the blood flowing throughout, which will help flush out toxins,
leaving your body fresh and cleansed. Also, since yoga calls for controlled and mindful
breathing, your lunch capacity will be increased from practicing yoga. Consequently,
breathing will become easier, which can help greatly when you start to feel stressed.

People have very busy schedules these days with work, family life, and
extracurricular activities, but if you can find time to practice yoga 1 or 2 times per
week, the great rewards that you will get from increased strength and flexibility,
better internal functioning, and feeling refreshed will help you cope tremendously with
the stresses of everyday life.
