Pomegranate Juice - Juice For Healthy Hearts

cholesterol. He started about a month before his next doctors visit and drank 8 oz of
juice each morning. On his next doctor visit both his blood pressure and cholesterol
were down! The nurse was quite surprised but said that other patients had told her
about the juice and their levels had been lower as well.
Pomegranates are rich in Iron as well as vitamins A, E and C and also have
anthocyanins , polyphenolics, tannins - all elements which are particularly good for
your health. These all work together to help protect your arteries as well as keep
your cardiovascular system healthy which is the chief health benefit of pomegranate
juice. You've more than likely heard that red wine and green tea are good for your
heart, however preliminary studies show that pomegranate juice has 3 times as
much antioxidants than wine and green tea.
Antioxidants are important since they fight the free radicals which can cause
oxidation - a process that affects the cholesterol in your blood. This oxidation is
thought to cause hardening of the arteries or atherosclerosis. However, according to
a study at the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa the oxidation can be cut in half by
drinking pomefranate juice.. This fantastic juice has also been found to improve blood
flow, reduce plaque in the arteries, increase levels of nitric oxide, lower systolic blood
pressure and even help with ED. Other benefits may include helping to prevent
stroke, Alzheimer's, arthritis, premature aging and even cancer.
Just like anything else, you must be selective about the juice you use. Most people
purchase juices as eating the seeds from the fruit or attempting to juice the fruit is
quite challenging and time consuming.
One thing though, if you do decide to avail yourself of the health benefits of
pomegranate juice you might want to check with your physician first, particularly if
you are taking any medications. It's been discovered that, in some cases, the
pomegranate juice can affect the way your body metabolizes prescription medicines
and this can be very harmful to you so it's best to be safe and talk to your doctor
first!
