Start Walking and Lower Your Blood Pressure

to alert you.
Reintroduce walking to your life, after you have consulted with and especially if your
doctor tells you that your blood pressure is rising, point by point, as you go through
your busy life. It is a simple way to increase circulation, exercise your heart and
reduce the possible need to take medication.
If you start with a 30 minute daily stroll around the neighborhood or through a local
park, this can be the start of a wonderful habit that will bring you a lifetime of
pleasure because of the beautiful scenery you will discover. A stroll will also lower
your stress level and help lower your blood pressure for several hours. There is no
need to walk longer, as a higher intensity of walking is not necessary for the desired
results. You can even break up your walk into 10 minute sessions if you have a busy
schedule, just remember that a little 'walk break' will lead to a more productive day
and keep in mind the benefits of lowering your blood pressure.
When you discover how much you enjoy walking, try a trail walk in the park or
around a local lake. Walking sticks will give you a feeling of security on uneven terrain
and a stylish look as well.

Walking is the one activity that is
taken for granted because we must
walk to get from room to room, to
the car, go into a store, go to work.
A baby starts trying to walk at 6
months; it is a major goal because it
can get to that interesting shiny
object on the table. Then comes your
car, which makes it much easier and
faster to get somewhere. Walking
now becomes a chore because you
can't get there fast enough.
Unfortunately, because you have
given up this valuable activity high
blood pressure sort of sneaks up on
you, there are no obvious symptoms
