responsible for the absorption and metabolism of calcium and phosphorus. These
two minerals have various functions but they play an important role in maintaining
healthy bones.

Aside from the metabolism and absorption, another function of Vitamin D is to
regulate the immune system. It can help in protecting a person against common
colds. In addition, vitamin D can also help in decreasing the risk for developing
multiple sclerosis. Not only does it prevent multiple sclerosis, but it also helps in
preventing the development of rheumatoid arthritis in women.

With good levels of vitamin D, a healthy body weight can be achieved as well as a
healthy overall physical well being because adequate supply of this vitamin can also
help in preventing the development of different types of cancer.

On the other hand, if you have deficiency of the D vitamin, you may develop
numerous illnesses or diseases related to lack of this vitamin. Usually, this would
involve the bones. One condition would be osteomalacia. Osteomalacia is the
condition wherein there is softening of the bones mainly caused by the
demineralization or loss of minerals related to poor absorption of calcium. This can
cause an intense musculoskeletal pain and it mainly affects adults.

Aside from that, inadequate supply of this vitamin is also associated with other
conditions such as cancer, chronic pain, hypertension or high blood pressure,
tuberculosis, seasonal affective disorder, peripheral artery disease, multiple sclerosis,
and problems related to the immune system.

If you want to keep your body healthy, then it would be best to supplement it with
the right foods and nutrients. It would also be ideal to have a regular routine exercise
to keep your body healthy and physically active. You might want to consider
exercising through the use of a Swiss ball.
