There are a lot of people who don't like to think about using their feet for exercise.
They immediately think of running and consider it to be boring. If you're not
interested in running then there are other forms of exercise that you can get using
your feet.

You may not realise what a great source of exercise walking can be. You can burn
calories and also have plenty of fun at the same time. In fact, you may find that you
enjoy walking so much fun that you don't even have to think about it as a form of
exercise.

So what's the key to making it an activity that you'll enjoy? Where you walk will
certainly be important. If you choose to walk the same route every day then you
may soon get bored. A much better approach is to select a range of different routes
and to add as many variations as you can.

You might like to have country walks some days and to walk around towns on other
occasions. Think about the type of walks that you like and try to concentrate on
having fun. Enjoy your surroundings and appreciate the fact that you'll be getting
exercise at the same time!

Walking is basically free, although it can pay to make sure that you have a pair of
shoes that are good for use in this activity. Select shoes that you'll be comfortable
wearing for long periods of time.
