A General Discussion About Brewer's Yeast

B7 (biotin). These vitamins help to break down the carbohydrates, proteins and fats
and hence provide energy to the body. They also help the muscles that are used for
digestion, help the nervous system and keep hair, eyes, skin and liver healthy.
According to some studies they can also help the patients of diabetes to control their
blood sugar level. The greatest problem of diabetes is that people can not produce
enough insulin or cannot use the insulin produced by the body which is needed to
convert sugar and other foods into energy. Chromium can reduce the blood sugar
level and thus improves the glucose tolerance which means the amount of insulin
needed is reduced. As Brewer's Yeast is rich in chromium it can be very effective in
the treatment of diabetes.
There are some other studies that suggest that this yeast may be helpful to reduce
the LDL (bad) cholesterol level and raise HDL (good) cholesterol level in the blood.
As some medications may interact with the yeasts, this should be used under the
supervision of a doctor. The general side effects of this yeast are mild and may cause
gas problems. People with diabetes should consult their doctor before using this
yeast as it may interact with other medications for diabetes. Also, Brewer's yeast
has not been studied in children yet so it is not recommended for children.
