Can Food Allergies, Intolerances Cause Acne?

Acne is a very common condition, affecting many humans, and can be extremely frustrating and embarrassing. However, acne is totally avoidable.

Many people think of acne as being a normal part of life. However, some people get acne whereas others don’t. Why is this? Most acne treatments are all about treating the symptoms – trying to cleanse the skin to get rid of spots once they appear.

However, this approach is fundamentally flawed, since acne develops from within the body. The human skin is an organ, which partly functions as a way to eliminate waste products through our pores.

If the body has too many toxins inside it, this can cause inflammation of the skin, which results in blocked pores and therefore acne. To treat acne cause, toxins must be removed.

This is where food allergies come in. The majority of acne is caused by a reaction to some kind of food that our body cannot process properly. This is because the body is always fighting a battle against the particular food, causing excess toxins in the body as a result.

But what is the number one food allergy that causes acne?

Dairy. Yes, dairy products often show up as the cause of people’s acne. Many people, after giving up all dairy products (milk, cheese, butter, etc.), find that their acne disappears and their skin subsequently improves dramatically. Think of the skin as being like an indicator of your body’s internal health. If you have bad skin, then your internal health is bad too. Fix the inside and fix the outside too.
