organs of the body.
The liver needs water and glucose (as gluconic acid) for most of its detoxification
functions. Glutathione, the most abundant SulfaHydryl in the body, functions to
chelate and detoxify heavy metals (like mercury and lead). The bile will carry this to
be excreted.
A simple coffee enema can stimulate the release of bile. Also, consumption of certain
herbal teas helps in the same. Ozone therapies will not only stimulate the release of
hepatic bile but also promote healing in the body. Flushing out the accumulated
particles of waste removes any blockage and helps the liver to work better.
For liver detoxification, a high starch or carbohydrate diet with low proteins and fats
is recommended. The B vitamins, especially B-6 and B-3, Vitamins A and E, cozen,
calcium, selenium, and l-cytokine are all needed to support liver detoxification.
Experts also recommend liver supportive nutrients as supplements to the diet.
Several amino acids are helpful in detoxification, particularly sulfur-containing ones
like cysteine and methionine. Cysteine is the precursor of glutothione, one of the
most important detoxifiers, which helps to counter many chemicals and carcinogens.
Glutathione is part of detoxification enzymes, which help to counter many toxins
such as smoke, radiation and other carcinogens. Another amino acid is glycine, which
supports glutathione synthesis and reduces the toxicity of substances like phenols
and benzoic acid.
The detoxification of the liver maybe helped by herbal treatment. Herbs like garlic,
dandelion root, chaparral, cayenne pepper, licorice root, yellow dock root, burdock
root, Oregon grape root, parsley leaf and golden seal root may all be used in the
detoxification of the liver.
A diet rich in water, fruits and vegetables, nutrient supplements and herbs will be
helpful in liver detox, along with cleansing enemas.
